CLUB
AND TEAM NEWS
BOYS
CROSS COUNTRY
– Congratulations to the Boys Frosh/Soph team who took 1st Place at
the SSC Pre-Conference meet. The team
was led by Daniel Marin who took 1st, Adam Gurke who too 2nd,
Maro Almanta-6, Kevin Trujillo-8, Adam Tyrka-12, Michael Amashta-14. There were a total of 128 runners in the
Frosh/Soph team. Also a job well done to
all of the first time runners. The Boys
Varsity took 6 out of the 12 team. When
compared to only the Red Division the Varsity took 3rd. Good first race gentlemen and an awesome run
by Joe Slodyczka. Get ready for a great
season.
BOYS
SOCCER
– Game cancelled today. Varsity and
Sophomores meet after school for practice!
Meet in the hallway outside the coach’s office of the North Gym at 3:15. The Freshman play at H-F after school.
COMPUTER
CLUB
– Do you like computers? Do you like web
design? Do you like video games? If so, come to the Computer Club meeting on Friday,
September 5th.
ENVIRONMENTAL
CLUB
– Float meeting Tuesday, September 9th in Room 203 at 3:05. Finalizing ideas, starting on construction.
FIBER
ARTS CLUB
- We are taking a trip to Nana’s Knitting Shop in Oak Lawn. If you would like
to go, see Montes in Room 27 or 222 as soon as possible to get more
information. Permission slips must be
signed and returned by this. Friday, September 5th. We will not have a regular meeting
next week, due to the field trip, but we will resume weekly meetings EVERY
TUESDAY in Room 27 until 4:00. New
members are ALWAYS WELCOME!
FOOTBALL – The Varsity
football team improved to 1-0 with their 28-6 victory over Gary-Wallace. Offensively Max Nunez led the Rams with 4
touchdowns. On defense Joe Hyzynski and Rob Wolfe had interceptions. Thanks to everyone who came out to the
game. Next game is at home Friday
night vs. Chicago-Longwood.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLUB – Our first party is
this Friday,
September 5th. Hope

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL – Varsity Girls
Volleyball lost opener against Queen of Peace 14-25. The Rams defense was anchored by Kinga
Hodorowicz. The teams offensive leaders
were Lauren Klenn and Kathy Krupa with 4 kills.
We look forward to seeing all the fans at our next match September
10th at home vs. Romeoville.
INTERNATIONAL
CLUB
- Any student wishing to purchase a club t-shirt, please have your money in by
this Friday,
September 5th to Ms. Huddleston, Room 258 or Ms. Kalus, Room

OUTDOOR CLUB – Stop into Room 175
to vote for club officers! Also, if you
did not come to the first meeting, it’s not too late to join. Stop by Room 175 to sign up.
SCHOLASTIC
BOWL
- Are you always the person with the trivial facts? Do you usually latch
onto the obscure facts of class? Do you have interests that are not
necessarily school related? Then Scholastic Bowl is for you! Scholastic Bowl will have its first meeting
to begin forming our academic team on Wednesday – September 10th.
Come to Room 205 at 3:05 to become a part of one of the most fun academic
competitions around. See Mr. Gadomski
(Room 205) or Mrs. Coyne (Room 210) if you have any questions or concerns.
SCIENCE
CLUB
- Do you long to get involved in the “greening” of Reavis and Burbank?
Are you into constructing and building mechanical devices? Want to
increase your knowledge base about the world around you? Attend Saturday
excursions to new, exciting locations? Or…do you have some other interest
or project you would like to pursue? Then the Reavis Science Club is for
you! Come join us and indulge in refreshments at an informational meeting
next Tuesday,
September 9th, after RAM in Room 210. Meet the other
club members and sponsor, Mrs. Coyne. Earn points towards becoming the
Science Student of the Year! Get involved! See you there!!

ZARNECKI’S EAGLE PROJECT – Do you have books you no longer use? Mark Zarnecki is a
Life Scout from Troop 652 and running a book drive for literacy programs
through September 6th. There
is a book drop in the library and any books are appreciated!!
